Meeting Held at the Audiovisual Council with Television Broadcasters’ Representatives
On February 25, 2025, a meeting was held at the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the responsible representatives of nationwide terrestrial and satellite television broadcasters (editorial offices). The meeting focused on the responsibilities of television broadcasters and their implementation in accordance with Azerbaijani legislation, as well as the targeted state programs, strategies, and action plans of significant importance to society.
The discussion covered various broadcasting-related topics, including:
- Implementation of the "Action Plan for the Execution of the Strategy on Children (2020-2025)", particularly preventing broadcasts that negatively impact children's intellectual, moral, and physical development.
- Compliance with the Law on Restriction of Tobacco Product Use.
- Combating the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors, as well as drug addiction prevention.
- Raising awareness among youth about the importance of family and marriage, the negative consequences of early and consanguineous marriages, preventing girls from dropping out of education, and promoting reproductive health education.
- Gender equality and combating gender-based violence through the preparation and broadcasting of relevant programs.
Additionally, issues related to the reports submitted by broadcasters to the Audiovisual Council were discussed.
The meeting was attended by authorized representatives of nationwide terrestrial and satellite television broadcasters, as well as legal and communications specialists of the Audiovisual Council.
